Hi, I'm John Rizvi, the patent professor, and I'm so excited to announce that today is World Intellectual Property day. Today we honor the creativity and ingenuity of inventors who innovate for a green future. But let's not forget that we all play a part in making our world a better place. We all share responsibility for keeping our planet healthy. Right now, you may be focused on the Coronavirus, and rightfully so. However, this pandemic will come and go, as all past pandemics have and we will still have to worry about our home hurt. Most of us can identify some of the biggest problems facing the Earth right now. Global warming, air pollution, just to name a few. But can we continue living this way? No. Look at the problem and ask yourself, How can I create a cleaner and more sustainable alternative to fix this? With the recent advancement of more eco friendly technology like solar panels and electric cars, it's clear to see that green solutions are not impossible or unobtainable. cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead once said, Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. Using the patent system to support your work. I believe that you can strive to make the world a better place. I believe that together we all can innovate for a green future.
