It's hard to watch the news or go online these days without seeing coverage of the Coronavirus. Stores are closing, stocks are plummeting and people are worried about the future. I've been around quite a few of these scares, the y2k crisis of 1999 SARS, all of these have one thing in common. There are visionaries that push through and create new products, and new solutions during times of crisis. I'd like to share stories of successful products, solutions and inventions developed during turmoil. Isaac Newton was home in isolation during the bubonic plague, when he developed the law of gravity. The iPod was created within days of the September 11 attacks, and the basketball was invented during the recession. It's in times of problems that we need the creativity of inventors, the most. Being forced to work remote can be a blessing for your creativity, and new ideas. The freedom from the hamster wheel of working a nine to five allows your mind to think outside the box. You see ideas don't die in dreams don't die, you suffocate them, and push them down. And it's in times of mental freedom that those ideas fight to come to the surface. Sometimes a change of scenery and routine is all that is needed to unleash your creativity. It is being confined in isolation, that you'll be get closer to your dreams.
