Allen D. Hertz is a registered Patent Agent of counsel to the firm. He is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is experienced in a wide variety of areas of patent prosecution practice. Graduating from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida with a B.S. in Ocean Engineering, he studied a wide variety of Engineering disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Sciences, Vibrations, and Acoustics.

Prior to becoming a Patent Agent, Allen worked as a Staff Engineer for Motorola Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas (Two-way Paging) and Boynton Beach, Florida (Japan Products Paging). While an Engineer at Motorola, Inc., Allen gained considerable experience with a vast array of product-related and manufacturing technologies including, for example, product design, printed circuit board assemblies, integrated circuit (chip) processing/packaging, RF technology, product assembly, testing, and reliability. While at Motorola, Allen became a Distinguished Innovator and was a member of the Mechanical Patent Committee.

Allen understands inventors, with over 27 issued patents and more pending resulting in the development of eight independent products and other concepts licensed or assigned to Motorola, Intel, Dupont, IBM, Compaq, and others.
